So, I was traveling for a conference to West Palm Beach this past week and I quite accidentally stumbled into a great bar/restaurant at my hotel.
I have been to many a hotel bar in my time as a traveling salesman (ok, that’s not true. I am not a traveling salesman, and I haven’t really been to that many great hotel bars).
But Galley, in the Hilton, is truly one of the better hotel bars I have ever been.
The bartenders, especially Nancy, who bartended for me twice when I was there) were not only friendly, but extremely efficient. The food, especially the Mexican corn and the roasted chicken, was exceptional. The Manhattan was fantastic, the House wine was tasty, and the entire experience was great. The bar also had a great local vibe.
It wasn’t your typical Hilton hotel bar.
The West Palm Beach Hilton is located in a hot new area, developed by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. I had heard that he owned the hotel and that his fingerprints are all over the Galley Bar and Restaurant.
In any event, if you are in the area or looking for a good place to get a drink, try the Hilton hotel bar. It is actually a really pleasant place to get a cocktail and a bite to eat.
Here is what the restaurant has to say about itself: “We welcome you to Galley, a friendly and authentic grill house and bar nestled inside the beautiful Hilton West Palm Beach. Featuring the finest meats and freshest ingredients, enjoy a wide variety of specialty dishes, unique twists on classic fare and a dash of international cuisine. Executive Chef Guillermo Eleicegui highlights his Argentinian roots with bold flavors and techniques. From the lush outdoor patio and expansive fire pit to the artful dining room and wood burning grill flavors, this unforgettable experience awaits.”
